Karrington Symonds is dynamic and accomplished executive producer and content creator who is known for his innovative ideas and infectious energy and smile. As the vice president of programming & business development at HBCU Go/Allen Media Group, he is at the forefront of providing engaging and culturally relevant content to the nation’s 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). 

Symonds, the Emmy Award & Telly Award winning producer, has executive produced content for a number of entertainers & athletes as well as different sports such as basketball, hockey, football, and esports. Prior to his current role, Symonds has worked as the senior manager of content and programming at Monumental Sports Network. In this capacity, he was responsible for negotiating and securing content acquisition deals, collaborating with professional leagues, public and private recreational agencies, and marketing and promotion agencies. 

Key accomplishments in his career include: 

  • Strategic Partnerships: Successfully secured a 10-year sports rights deal for three of the four HBCU conferences (SWAC, CIAA, and SIAC).
  • Creative Content Development: Created and executive produced programming for prominent brands such as Ford, Old Spice, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, and other P&G brands.
  • Industry Collaborations: Forged partnerships with influential figures and organizations, including Michael B. Jordan’s Legacy Classic HBCU Basketball Classic, Turner Broadcast/William Morris Endeavors, NBA’s HBCU All-Star Game, and the HBCU Legacy Bowl Football Game.
  • Talent Collaborations: Worked alongside renowned talents such as Master P, Michael B. Jordan, David Banner, John Wall, K. Michelle, and Deion Sanders.

A Chicago native and proud graduate of the University of Hartford, Symonds currently resides outside of DC with his daughter Kaylse.
